Aloe vera has many health benefits and uses. It can be used on hair and skin. It can be used for weight-loss and even ingested for internal benefits as well. I have always had an aloe vera plant, since it is a healthier alternative for the skin. The aloe gel in the plants leaves is approximately 96% water. It contains over 75 organic and inorganic compounds, a protein that is 18 to 20 amino acids that are found in the body and Vitamins A, B, C and E.
I try using products that have the least amount of chemicals in them and using pure aloe vera allows me to have a more natural skin treatment option. This is why I created my own plant-based skincare line, LIFESTYLE Skincare! You can use the aloe as a mask on your face or leave it on overnight, like I do, except I put it on my face, and décolleté (neck, chest and shoulder area). Your skin will be smooth and tighter. It helps soothe sunburn, cuts, scratches, it aids in the production of collagen for anti-aging and even helps if you have acne, or redness.
First, take one of the fuller leaves from the base of the plant. Be careful when removing the leaf, since it does have thorns on the edges. Rinse the leaf with water and use a sharp knife to slice away the edges on each side, then slice the leaf lengthwise. I slice off each side and cut the aloe gel into pieces. I store the pieces in a baggie and put it in the freezer. Each night after I shower, I take a piece of aloe out of the baggie, run some water over it, since it is frozen and gently rub it on my face, neck and shoulder area. Get ready for super soft skin! If you’re not into doing the aloe preparation yourself, check out some other products that are already done for you! Be sure to look for the aloe products with “no alcohol,” since alcohol can dry out your skin. Click here!
